History[]
Zeta sector was originally scheduled to be colonized after Epsilon sector, but Beta sector’s period of independence as the Second Roman Empire resulted in Planet First efforts being redirected to Kappa sector.[1]
Drago's team is being asked to volunteer to be the first ones in uncharted space of Zeta Sector.
"...Since the stellar survey and selection of prospective colony worlds in Zeta sector will take decades, the General Marshal and representatives of Joint Sector High Congress Committee have authorized work to begin on the initial stellar survey of Zeta sector at the beginning of next year.”[2]
They will be sending drop portals into areas that no one else has ever been to.
Aliens[]
Once the Aliens home world was discovered in Zeta sector, all other military survey work had started, except perhaps in star systems around Fortuna.
It is suspected that the chimera's home planet is in Zeta Sector, too. Once it is located the planet is likely to be "nuked to cinders".
Future[]
An additional planet will have to be located that has enough Solar Storm activity that those with Novak-Nadal Syndrome can live on it. This will allow "Earth Angel" teams to be positioned close enough to Fortuna that there are no communications lag when working on an emergency.
